Blog Tour! Elena Reviews: Angel After Dark by Kahlen Aymes And A Giveaway!

Angel After Dark Cover

The synopsis:

Dr. Angeline Hemming is a beautiful, sassy, no-nonsense type of girl who has risen from a difficult past to become one of Chicago’s most successful and respected criminal profilers. In exchange for free commercials to promote her favorite charitable causes, Angel answers calls and gives relationship advice on a Friday night radio program.

Alexander Avery is a gorgeous and successful corporate genius who doesn’t believe in love. When his girlfriend-of-convenience calls into Angel’s program, he is furious with the show’s host who doles out (what he considers) blind advice, without knowing all the facts… and he decides to give her a piece of his mind, and his side of the story!

When Angel informs Alex he’s the one in need of a much-deserved lesson, all hell breaks loose as these two type-A personalities battle it out for control over minds and hearts, and yes, in bed. Not only are they fighting each other at every turn, but they are also struggling to uphold the convictions they each live by.

It’s unclear who is stronger, but both must discover that to get what they desperately want, they may have to give a little… or a lot.

Elena’s Musings: Series and Stand Alones…

When authors write novels, they can decide between two options: create a series or leave the stories as stand alones. As a reader, I enjoy both. I have to say that the majority of my favorite stories are series, for example The Gabriel Series by Sylvain Reynard, the Fifty Shades trilogy by E. L. James, The Remembrance Trilogy by Kahlen Aymes, The Sempre Series by JM Darhower,The Thoughtless Series by S.C. Stephens, and these are just a few — there are many, many more. What I love about reading a series is that I don’t have to let go of the characters after just one book. I’m the kind of reader who gets really invested in the stories I read, and it almost emotionally hurts me when I have to say goodbye to my beloved characters. It’s like seeing off at the airport a person you love, knowing you won’t see them again. OK, this is a bit dramatic, I admit, but you get the idea. With a series however? I know for certain that the story doesn’t end in one book. I know that there will be at least two other instalments (and sometimes more) where the characters will keep me company, will make me laugh and cry, will make my heart beat faster, will make me dream…Bliss, right? 😉
